Personal profile:
A Swabian by birth, I have jumped over to the other side of Lake Constance, and have been in Switzerland for 17 years now as a resident of the beautiful Appenzellerland, high above the banks of the lake. The idea of setting up a virtual SingleGolfclub came to me in the late summer of 2003. Today, 5 years on, there are SingleGolfclubs in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and the UK. These will soon be joined by the six other English-speaking countries. Once the initial work of setting it up had been completed, my son took over SingleGolfclub and now markets it through his own company operating under the name SingleGolfclub GmbH. Since November 2006 I have completed five courses of instruction in the game and was awarded my official certificate of competence on 9 July 2007. In the meantime I have become a very good putter and can knock a drive over 270 yards down the fairway. My ambition for this year is to get my handicap down below 30. My sporting activities in the past included skiing - downhill and ski-touring in the high mountains - climbing, tennis and cycle racing. In my former position as an International Service Manager I was responsible for worldwide representation, a role which I enjoyed immensely. From March 2009 I will be restricting my activities to acting as a consultant for my son, and am looking forward to spending more time on my other hobbies, and my golf, of course.
